This is my life
I grew up in Littleton, Colorado, where my parents taught me the value of hard work at an early age. At 12 I had my own paper route, at 14 I was washing dishes at a Mexican restaurant and by the time I was 18 I was a manager at a grocery store.
After graduating from the University of Colorado at Denver with a BA in Economics, I decided to serve my country and joined the U.S. Army, knowing I would be headed to war. While in the Army, I served in numerous combat and non-combat leadership positions and obtained the rank of Captain. My awards include the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal (OLC) and the Army Achievement Medal.
I am a strong believer in family, and was blessed to marry my high school sweetheart and wonderful wife, Kristi. She gave birth to our oldest daughter, Mary Katelyn, just days before I deployed to Iraq and was strong enough to get through the first year all on her own. When I returned in 2009, we made Castle Rock our home. It didn’t take long to realize Douglas County is a great place to raise a family. Shortly after we were blessed with the arrival of our second daughter, Hannah. I would consider it a high honor to serve the citizens of District 45 as your next representative in our state legislature.
